Following Jesus

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

Following Jesus ("we," "us," "our") provides a discipleship app and an online course platform to help people follow Jesus and grow in faith, often in connection with a local church. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. We don't collect or store passwords — Google handles sign-in entirely.

Church association. If you're connected to a church through the app or course platform, we store which church that is.

Course activity. Which course sessions you've viewed or completed, your answers to discussion questions, and certificates you've earned.

Discipleship activity. If you use the app's leader/disciple features: your Bible reading progress, which group(s) you're part of, messages you send in group chat or directly to your leader or disciple, and checklist/action items assigned to you and whether you've completed them.

Leader applications. If you apply to become a leader, we collect your name, your church, and your pastor's name and email — we email your pastor a link so they can approve or deny the request.

Before you create an account, the app can be used anonymously to browse Bible content and daily readings — no personal information is required until you choose to become a leader or disciple.

Minors

Following Jesus is generally intended for adults, but we recognize that youth (for example, through a church youth group) may use it as well. If you're a parent or guardian and believe your minor child has provided us with information you'd like removed, contact us at the email below and we'll address it.

Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including access controls that limit who can see what data based on their role (student, leader, church admin, etc.). No method of storing or transmitting data online is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
